The Bike Highlight – Kawasaki Z900RS Café

posted in: Uncategorised 0

For this week’s Bike Highlight, we look at the Kawasaki Z900RS Café, an extension of the popular Z900RS. The engine, chassis, braking components, and adjustable suspension are the same as the Z900RS, but the Café features a few changes to the styling and riding position.

The Café comes in a vibrant colour scheme of vintage lime green and ebony. It has a Café Racer Front Cowl, and adding to its café-racer aesthetic, the bike features a drop handlebar, shorter stays on the back mirrors and cafe-racer style seat.

Engine – 948cc liquid-cooled DOHC four-cylinder (Z1 was 903cc air-cooled)

Power – 110bhp (82kW) @ 8,500rpm (Z1 made 81bhp)

Torque – 72.6lb-ft (98.5Nm) @ 6,500rpm (Z1 made 54.2lb-ft)

Two-mode traction control and ABS

Kawasaki say, “Kawasaki alone has the heritage to deliver yesterday’s values to today’s riders in a truly authentic Modern Classic motorcycle. The Z900RS CAFE adds a new direction to the Z900RS.”
