KTM’s mighty 1290 Super Duke GT has been upgraded for 2022, with tweaks including a redesigned subframe, revised chassis and lighter weight.
The 1,301cc, 75-degree, L-twin engine is now Euro-5 compliant but maintains its 173hp.
The Continental SportAttack 4 tyres are borrowed from the Super Duke R and shave 1kg off the bike’s total weight, while the new semi-active WP Active suspension comes from KTM’s Super Duke EVO. There also new settings where the rider can choose from Rider/Rider and Pillion/ Rider and Luggage or Rider, Pillion and Luggage, plus a new ride by wire system which results in smoother throttle response, reducing the chances of low-rev jolting.
The new Super Duke GT has a windshield with can be adjusted to 9 different positions for optimum wind protection, and there’s also adjustable handlebars. Excitingly, heated grips come as standard on the 2022 Super Duke GT.
Biggest change of all is the new, 7-inch full-colour TFT dash with revised layout and new switchgear. The new dash also has a Turn-by-Turn PLS navigation system which runs via a paired smartphone and can now be accessed through the dash.
