Yamaha’s XSR900 has been revamped for 2022!
There’s an updated, Euro-5 compliant engine, new subframe and completely different bodywork and riding position.
The XSR900 is the retro sister bike to Yamaha’s MT-09, so it makes sense that after the MT-09 received updates earlier this year that the XSR followed suit. The heart of the XSR900 is a 889cc ‘CP3’ three-cylinder engine which provides 117bhp at 10,000rpm and 69 lb-ft of torque at 7,000rpm.
The lightweight Spinforged wheels are borrowed from the MT-09, as is the 3.5-inch full colour TFT dash. There’s a brand-new seat subframe which has been designed specifically for the bike, which gives a flexible and relaxed riding position. Other features include LED indicators, hidden rear LED lighting and a 15-litre fuel tank with cool race-style filler cap. The XSR900’s new styling is distinctively 80’s, with the circular headlight, stubby back and bar end mirrors.
