Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250, Harley-Davidson’s first adventure bike, landed in UK dealers a few months back and has been gaining rave reviews. MCN said the Pan America was “innovative” “refreshingly unusual” and “an impressively well resolved bike.” We take a look at the spec in this weeks Bike Highlight to see what all the fuss is about…
- The Pan America 1250 is powered by Harley’s “Revolution Max” engine. A completely new design, the liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC Revolution Max 1252cc V-twin engine produces plenty of power for the open road, as well as proving capable off-road.
- Top speed – 135mph
- Max power 150 bhp
- Max torque 94 ft-lb
- LED lighting with signature taillight
- Manually adjustable windshield
- Keyless ignition
- 19-inch front tyre and 17-inch rear tyre developed (and analysed by Michelin) to meet the demands of road and off-road touring
- Five riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road, Off-Road Plus) plus the option to create your own custom riding mode
- Fuel capacity 21.2 L
- Weight – 245kg
Looking at the TFT dash, we rate the large, full colour touchscreen. The 6.8-inch screen is covered in non-reflective glass and allows you to easily view the bike’s diagnostics and settings. You can access music and phone calls using Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation is provided via the Harley-Davidson App. (View Speedo Angels dash protection for Harley-Davidson models here)
The rugged styling of the Pan America is right up our street and if the reviews are anything to go by, Harley’s first adventure bike seems to be very much a success.
