Yesterday, Triumph teased an exciting new Speed Triple 1200 RR design concept!
Very little of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR design concept was revealed, but here’s what we know so far from the limited imagery that was released:
The bike will have some level of fairing – images show what looks like a semi-faired version of the Speed Triple 1200 RS.There’s a single, round retro headlight which we love the look of – think Superveloce 800 styling. The low handlebars on the RR give a sportier rider position, and there’s some smart stitching on the riders’ seat. The RR suffix in the model name also lets us know that this will be a sporty, race-orientated motorbike.
The base for the Speed Triple 1200 RR will surely be Triumph’s 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS. The Speed Triple 1200 RS boasts an amazingly refined new engine, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, 5 customisable riding modes, lighter chassis, brilliantly clear 5-inch TFT dash with phone connectivity, full keyless system, a top speed of 155 mph, cornering sensitive rider aids, and a narrower seat to aid cornering. The 2021 RS also weighs in at 10kg less than the previous model.
Triumph say the Speed Triple 1200 RR is “The perfect blend of pure elegance, exhilaration and attitude” and with the 1200 RR set to be Triumph’s first ‘RR’ model, we cannot wait for more details to be revealed!
